Financial Discipline​

We understand that overall cost is usually a (if not the) primary driving factor when selecting an ED group. This is why we’ve set up our company in several important ways that differentiate us from our peers in this industry:

No Pivate Equity Backing and Minimal Corporate Overhead

In our experience, most of the infrastructure in large groups doesn’t provide value for smaller hospitals. Unlike large PE-backed companies, we don’t have large bureaucracies to support, massive real estate liabilities (and empty offices), and, most importantly, we don’t need to grow our company at any cost. Our motivation for forming NewGen is different: we aim to provide an honest, straightforward service at a reasonable price, enable providers to best care for their patients, and provide good jobs for our hard-working employees. We believe this approach is in the best interests of our partner hospitals, their patients, the providers who serve their communities, and the personnel we employ.

Simplicity

ER Staffing and Management, currently, is more complicated than necessary, particularly for smaller hospitals working with large corporate groups designed for large systems. Overly sophisticated contracts may work for large, multi-site bureaucracies, but they’re often more than what smaller hospitals need. Our hospital partners tell us they want a professional, reliable service delivered efficiently and reasonably priced.

Efficiency

Because we’re not Corporate-Owned or Private Equity backed, we can deliver our services much more efficiently than if we were part of a large, multi-level conglomerate. We focus on recruiting excellent providers and building quality ED groups, entirely separating the pro-fee billing & reimbursement functions from the staffing and management, simplifying our service delivery, and reducing overall costs. Allowing the hospital to bill the pro-fees eliminates reimbursement volatility and the financial cushioning that volatility requires. We’re owner-operators and can make essential decisions without management approval, which, in the end, means a quicker, smoother, and more impactful service delivery.

Transparency

As confusing as the current healthcare reimbursement environment is, the last thing we do is add more complexity. “Hidden costs” (intentional and otherwise) buried in impenetrable contract financials - often not even well understood by the group providing the services - drive up overall expenses, which the hospital ultimately bears in the form of higher subsidies. We eliminate all that, providing an easy-to-understand service with financial reporting and invoicing that anyone can understand. We disclose all cost details, who’s getting what, and how much NewGen earns in the end.
